Hello Spring!!!
I am so excited that the weather is changing, flowers are blooming and the summer season is almost here!! That's my busy time! And I've got some awesome things scheduled already for this summer! I'll be doing shows in Creston opening for Jimmy Van Zant, playing Tuesdays in the Triangle in Waukee, Smokin' in the Junction in Valley Junction, and hopefully I'll be back at the Iowa State Fair and that's just a few of them. I'm kicking it all off by singing the National Anthem at Principal Park!! I LOVE THE SPRING AND SUMMER!!! I also have the amazing honor of being included in a compilation CD, Voices Around the World, released by Voices for Heroes, benefitting the music programs of Newtown, CT. The song I had written for them, Angels Still Cry, was recorded here in Des Moines by the amazing guys at Sonic Factory Studios. Thank you Tony and Jon and the wonderful musicians who made my song into what I heard in my heart when I wrote it. The CD will hopefully be released early this summer at www.voicesforheroes.com. Please help if you can. Music saved my life and heals so many hurts. This town and their schools need so much healing.
Prom weekends are here and the one I went to was AWESOME!! I'll be posting pictures soon but if you want to see them sooner I've uploaded a few to Facebook. Thanks to my friends at Norwalk High School for making it a great night with great friends!! I miss you guys!! And thanks to Brandon Soll of the Dallas County Sheriff's Office for not losing your cool and being the best security detail EVER!!! All of my friends thought you were SO COOL!! And we matched!!!! YOU ROCK!!
For my friends who haven't had Prom yet or who will be graduating this year, please be careful!! I love you all so don't drink and drive or let your friends do it. It just isn't worth the rest of your life. Come out and see me at a show this summer. I won't be doing as many this year because I'm going to be spending more time in Nashville this summer so check out my calendar. I can't wait to see you all!!! Enjoy the amazing weather and don't forget to appreciate your family and friends. They are such a blessing and we never know how long we get to have them in our lives.
